The software is free source to open EDB file and view its contents when Exchange Server is not available. EDB file emails, contacts, journals, calendars, and other items can be viewed with the tool. The software allows adding multiple EDB files for viewing its mailbox and public folder database.
Open Corrupt EDB File Using Dual Scan Modes
The tool has two modes for scanning EDB file. Quick Scan that can be selected if EDB file is expected to have low corruption issues and Advance Scan if the EDB file is suspected to be intense corruption issues. If the EDB file has major issues, then Quick Scan option will give an error suggesting you to choose Advance Scan.
Preview EDB Items and their Details within Tool
Once an EDB file is scanned, the software will show its details within the software pane. This includes number of mailboxes, number count for items in a folder, sender, receiver, date, and size of email. The software allows viewing details of all the items including calendars, contacts, journals etc.

In the "Normal Mail View" tab, basic details of a message like sender, date/time, subject, number of attachments etc can be seen. The attached file in the mail can be checked out in "Attachments" tab available under the preview tab in the tool.
Eight Different Views of EDB File Messages
There are eight different mail views like header view, attachments, normal view, Hex view, MIME view, Properties view, HTML, and RTF mail view. This proves helpful in digital email investigation and helps to read RTF mail content as there are very less number of mal client that supports RTF format for emails.
Search Emails in EDB Using Keywords
The software allows searching for a specific email using the search option. Keywords can be added in search box to filter the emails within EDB file. However, there is another criteria for email filters which is using subject line, sender's name, receiver, or body content. The software allows adding other search criteria.
Save EDB Messages into Adobe PDF File Format
The Pro version of EDB Viewer saves the EDB file messages into PDF file. This generally helps when evidences are recovered from EDB file and are to be saved into PDF for litigation process. For every email in EDB, software creates individual PDF file with complete details.
Email Filters & Naming Conventions
The tool includes email filters whereby unwanted messages can be excluded from export process. Only those mails will be saved into PDF that are sent or received under defined time interval. Also, the naming conventions for messages help to sort mails by sender, subject, and date.
